Hearing Loss (Bilateral) VA Disability Rating

OVERVIEW
Bilateral hearing loss (DC 6100) is rated using puretone audiometry and Maryland CNC speech recognition scores mapped to Table VI or VIA, then combined in Table VII. Ratings range from 0-100%. Each ear evaluated separately then combined. Bilateral factor applies.
RATING CRITERIA (3 LEVELS)
40%+ -- Severe limitation or ankylosis
Severe limitation of motion or ankylosis of the affected joint. Specific percentages depend on the joint and whether dominant/non-dominant.
20% -- Moderate limitation
Moderate limitation of motion with significant functional impairment. DeLuca factors may increase the effective rating.
10% -- Mild limitation or painful motion
Mild limitation of motion, or X-ray evidence of arthritis with painful motion under DC 5003.

1.Bring all relevant medical records and a written list of symptoms.
2.Report your worst days, not your best. The VA rates based on overall impairment.
3.Document how the condition affects daily activities, work, and relationships.
4.Mention all medications and their side effects.
5.Bring buddy statements from people who observe your symptoms.
