WHERE YOU ARE RIGHT NOW
No VA rating yet
You might still be deciding whether to file. Claim Recon helps you understand how combined ratings work and what service connection means. Use the calculator and condition guides to prepare before talking to a VSO.
Rated between 0% and 90%
You have a rating and you are working or looking for work. Claim Recon helps you check your combined rating math and understand how your conditions interact under VA rules. Use the secondaries explorer to see what might be missing.
100% Permanent & Total (P&T)
P&T means the VA does not expect your conditions to improve. Some veterans in this situation still work in limited or accommodated roles. Others focus on stability, family, or treatment. Your call. Claim Recon helps you keep a clear picture of your conditions so you can make informed decisions.
Considering TDIU
Total Disability based on Individual Unemployability lets some veterans receive 100% compensation when service-connected disabilities prevent substantially gainful employment. Requires 60% single or 70% combined (with one at 40%+) under 38 C.F.R. 4.16. Talk to an accredited representative.
VR&E (VETERAN READINESS & EMPLOYMENT)
Chapter 31: Career Counseling, Training & Education
VA's Veteran Readiness and Employment program helps eligible veterans with service-connected disabilities prepare for, find, and maintain suitable employment. If employment is not feasible, independent living services are available.
-Skills and interests assessment
-Career counseling and goal planning
-Resume help and job-seeking skills coaching
-Funding for college, technical, or trade training
-On-the-job training and apprenticeships
-Independent living services when work is not feasible
Before you meet with a VR&E counselor, it helps to walk in already knowing your current combined rating and how your conditions affect your day-to-day. Use the calculator and ROM explorer to prepare.
