How we protect your data and your privacy
Claim Recon will never ask for your VA.gov username, password, eBenefits credentials, DS Logon, ID.me credentials, or Login.gov credentials. We do not access any government system on your behalf. If anyone claiming to be Claim Recon asks for these credentials, it is not us.
All data transmitted between your browser and claimrecon.com is encrypted using TLS 1.3 (HTTPS). This is the same encryption standard used by banks and government websites. Your connection to Claim Recon is always encrypted — there is no unencrypted HTTP access.
If you upload a document to the Decision Letter Analyzer, the file is processed to generate your educational analysis and then automatically deleted from our active systems within 24 hours. Encrypted backups may retain residual data for up to 7 days. We do not retain copies of your uploaded documents beyond the 24-hour processing window. We do not share your uploaded documents with any third party other than the contracted AI processing provider required to generate the analysis.
When you use the AI Claims Assistant or Decision Letter Analyzer, your input is sent to our contracted AI processing provider. We send only the content of your query — we do not send your name, email address, account information, or any identifying data to the AI provider. The AI provider processes this data under contractual data protection terms and does not use it for model training.
All payments are processed by a PCI Level 1 certified payment processor — the highest level of payment security certification. Your credit card number, bank account details, and full payment credentials never touch Claim Recon's servers.
Claim Recon is hosted on an enterprise-grade global edge network with automatic SSL, DDoS protection, and continuous monitoring. Your data is served from data centers with physical security, redundant systems, and intrusion detection. Our hosting and database providers are SOC 2 Type II certified.
We do NOT store: VA.gov/eBenefits login credentials, Social Security Numbers, credit card numbers (handled by our PCI-certified processor), military service records, VA medical records, C-file contents, or uploaded documents beyond the 24-hour processing window.
You can request deletion of all personal data associated with your account at any time by contacting us through our support page. We process deletion requests within 30 days. Calculator inputs entered without an account are not stored or associated with any identity.
