Why Track Symptoms?
Under DeLuca v. Brown (1995), the VA must consider functional loss from pain, weakness, fatigability, and incoordination when rating musculoskeletal disabilities. Under Sharp v. Shulkin (2017), the C&P examiner must estimate additional ROM loss during flare-ups. A timestamped symptom log gives you and the examiner concrete data about your daily functional limitations, flare-up frequency, and how your conditions affect your ability to work and live.
