Service-connected death
The veteran died from a service-connected condition or a condition that was aggravated by military service.
Total disability for 10+ years
The veteran was receiving 100% disability compensation for at least 10 continuous years immediately before death.
Death on active duty
The veteran died while on active duty, active duty for training, or inactive duty training.
P&T rated for 5+ years
The veteran had a total disability rating (permanent and total) for at least 5 years at the time of death.
