Agent Orange Exposure (Presumptive Conditions) is rated by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs under DC 6299 of 38 CFR § 3.309(e) across 1 severity tier (Rated on resulting conditions). Service connection requires (1) a current diagnosis, (2) an in-service event, injury, or exposure, and (3) a medical nexus opinion linking the two under 38 C.F.R. § 3.303. This condition is frequently rated as secondary to Diabetes Type II or Ischemic Heart Disease under 38 C.F.R. § 3.310.
OVERVIEW
Conditions resulting from herbicide agent exposure, primarily Agent Orange used during the Vietnam War. Presumptive conditions include diabetes mellitus type 2, ischemic heart disease, various cancers, Parkinson's disease, peripheral neuropathy, chloracne, and many others. No nexus letter required for presumptive conditions.
