Vulvodynia

Vulvodynia is rated by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs under DC 7611 of 38 CFR § 4.116, DC 7611 across 3 severity tiers (50% -- Severe symptoms not controlled by treatment / 30% -- Symptoms requiring continuous treatment / 10% -- Mild symptoms). Service connection requires (1) a current diagnosis, (2) an in-service event, injury, or exposure, and (3) a medical nexus opinion linking the two under 38 C.F.R. § 3.303.
OVERVIEW
Chronic vulvar pain lasting at least 3 months without an identifiable cause. Includes generalized vulvodynia and vestibulodynia (localized). Causes burning, stinging, rawness, and pain during intercourse.
RATING CRITERIA (3 LEVELS)
50% -- Severe symptoms not controlled by treatment
Symptoms not controlled by treatment with significant health impairment.
30% -- Symptoms requiring continuous treatment
Requiring continuous treatment.
10% -- Mild symptoms
Symptoms requiring intermittent treatment.
