RATING CRITERIA (1 LEVELS)
0%
Autonomic neuropathy is a multi-system condition without a dedicated diagnostic code; the rating is built from each affected body system's contribution under the appropriate DC. Cardiovascular involvement (orthostatic hypotension, postural tachycardia, bradyarrhythmia) is rated under § 4.104. Gastrointestinal involvement (gastroparesis, intestinal pseudo-obstruction) is rated under DC 7307 or DC 7301 by analogy. Genitourinary involvement (neurogenic bladder, erectile dysfunction) is rated under § 4.115a/b and DC 7522. Sudomotor involvement (anhidrosis, hyperhidrosis) is rated under § 4.118 (skin). Where vagal (parasympathetic) dysfunction is the predominant manifestation, DC 8210 by analogy applies using the 10/30/50 vagus framework. Each dysfunction is separately ratable; the total is combined under § 4.25.
