Common mistakes
- ×Not notifying VA - if you just stop attending one school and start another without filing 22-1995, VA may overpay the old school and underpay the new one.
Section II - New Program or School
Blocks 5-10New school name, address, VA facility code, start date
Name and address of the new school or training program. Include the VA facility code if known. List the date you will start at the new location.
e.g., Grand Canyon University, Phoenix AZ; VA facility code: 31575; starting 01/15/2027
Common mistakes
- ×Not checking if the new school is VA-approved before transferring - unapproved schools do not receive GI Bill payment.
- ×Forgetting to notify both VA AND the new school - the new school needs to certify your enrollment separately.
