WHERE YOU ARE RIGHT NOW
If you do not have a VA rating yet
You might still be deciding whether to file a claim. ClaimRecon can help you see how combined ratings work and what service-connected means, so you can talk with a VSO, accredited representative, or attorney about next steps.
If you already have a rating
Maybe you are at 10%, 50%, or something else. ClaimRecon helps you check the combined-rating math and see how your service-connected conditions fit together under VA rules, so you can decide with a professional whether your current rating lines up with your day-to-day limitations.
If you are 100% Permanent & Total (P&T)
Being 100% P&T generally means VA does not expect your service-connected conditions to improve. Some veterans in this situation still choose to work in limited or accommodated roles. Others focus on stability, family, or treatment. ClaimRecon does not tell you what to do. It helps you keep a clear picture of your conditions and functional limits so you can make informed choices with your doctors and representatives.
If you are wondering about TDIU
Total Disability based on Individual Unemployability (TDIU) lets some veterans be paid at the 100% rate even when their combined rating is lower, when service-connected disabilities make it impossible to secure or follow substantially gainful employment. ClaimRecon does not decide whether you qualify for TDIU or tell you what to file.
What ClaimRecon can do for TDIU conversations: See your current combined rating and which conditions are service-connected. Capture how those conditions affect sitting, standing, lifting, focus, travel, and schedule reliability. Bring organized information to an accredited representative or attorney if you want to ask whether options like TDIU or job accommodations make sense for you.
HOW CLAIMRECON SUPPORTS YOUR WORK & TRAINING DECISIONS
ClaimRecon is not a job board and does not provide medical or legal advice. It is a clarity tool. It helps you understand your rating, your conditions, and your functional limits so you can have better conversations with VR&E counselors, vocational rehab staff, doctors, employers, VSOs, accredited representatives, or attorneys.
-Check your combined rating so you know exactly what VA has on record
-See how your primary and secondary conditions interact under VA rules, so you understand why your rating is what it is
-Document functional limits (range of motion, pain, stamina) using tools like ROM Explorer, so you can describe your abilities realistically
-Prepare for meetings by keeping your information in one place instead of trying to remember everything in the moment
VR&E AND FREE PROGRAMS
Veteran Readiness & Employment (VR&E, Chapter 31)
VA's Veteran Readiness and Employment program helps eligible veterans with service-connected disabilities prepare for, find, and maintain suitable employment, or work on independent living goals when needed.
-Skills and interests assessment
-Career counseling and goal planning
-Resume help and job-seeking skills coaching
-Help finding and keeping a job
-Funding for college, technical, or trade training when needed for your plan
-On-the-job training, apprenticeships, and other tracks
-Independent living services if you are not ready for work yet
Before you meet with a VR&E counselor, it helps to walk in already knowing your current combined rating and how your conditions affect your day-to-day. That is where ClaimRecon can help. Free.
